I was at Yvette's getting a mug of coffee after the horrible week I just had.
Coffee after class, always get's me a little bit better, so I come down at Yvette's and just chill.
The coffee shop I found out one night that I was confused, sitting in my couch.
Yes, confused, Jackson and I, are a little different with eachother, since New Year's Eve, since that midnight kiss we shared, on freaking Times Square. I just thought... *sigh* anyways, I found Yvette's that night, she offered me a mug of coffee because she said I looked awful. I became a usual since that night. I usually talked with Yvette about my problems everytime I went there. I even told her about Jackson.
I tolder her how we kissed and I felt like the fireworks where leaving me and not the place where they were being launched. That Times Square stood still for those moments. That those explosions I was listening far away, were the same explosions of my heart blissfully. That the wash of freedom of the crowd was because of the feeling of his smooth lips on mine and his hands on my skin. I thought all that. What I haven't thought about was the after. After the kiss, after the joy, after the passion, I just guess... that we wouldn't change. I chew myself to try to figure out what was happening. Why were we different. I don't have anything in that.
After a few weeks, Jackson met a girl. I can't say if they are indeed dating, but I can say that I'm feeling a bit jealouse. They've been hooking up for 3 weeks now. Almost a month after that... Incident? Mistake? Best day of my life? I don't know, and it's frustrating.
Returning to reality, I was at Yvette's with my face buried in my arms across the counter. I slowly raised my head and took a zip of coffee. The shop was almost empty apart from the usual costumers and Yvett and her husband, George. There was a guy a few stools from me lean into his mug of coffee. His blond slightly long and wavy hair was shielding his face, so I couldn't discribe him, apart from his body that was attractive.
I was trying to see his face, when he suddently looked in my direction. I instantly blushed hard and lowered my gaze. Taking another zip of my coffee and figgeted with my hands nervously.
To why I was acting like this I had no clue, but suddently I was nervous.
He had blue eyes and a little blond stubble that made his face lighter.
"Yvett, fill me." I said with my voice coming out a little shakly and high pitched.
She filled my mug and smiled at me darting her eyes in his direction.
"He's a usual here. Nice guy." I blushed.
"I don't know what are you talking about."
She chuckled. "Of course not honey." and she left giving a slight kiss to George.
I looked to the guy again and he was discreatly looking at me too. My only reaction was to smile. What I didn't predict was to be faced by most gourgeous smile ever.
Remind me why am I flirting with this guy? That was good for a change I guess.
"Hi." The guy said fidgetting with his cup.
"Hey." I said shyly. Even his voice was smooth. Bonzai!
"Bad day?" He asked taking a zip.
"You can say that. Awful week, actually." I said lowering my eyes to my cup of coffee, breathing in the amazing scent and feeling the warmth.
"I can see. You look kinda bad. I mean... bad in mood, not looks. I'm not saying you're not good looking or something... damn. I'm sorry I'm getting my hands through my feet." I giggle at his awkwarness.
"Relax, I get it. I know I look bad. It's been tough. Hopefully it will get better." I said smiling a little.
"Yea. I'm Casey by the way." He said giving me a smile.
"Rita, nice to meet you Casey." I said nodding my head.
"Can I buy you another one of those?" He asked poiting to my hands that hold my mug.
"Oh, you don't need to. Don't worry about that." I smiled.
"I want to." He waved to Yvette and pointed to me. Yvette just winked at me and poured more coffee.
"Can I sit with you?" He asked darting is eyes to the stool next to me.
I just nodded.
After passing a few minutes talking about how we discovered this place, I was suddently very awere of the time.
"Shit, I need to go. I planned to meet my friend in 20 minutes. Rose's gonna kill me." I said picking up my wallet and taking a 5 dollar bill.
"I'm sorry Casey, I need to go. It was nice meeting you. Honestly."
"Wait. Can I have your number?" He said blushing slightly. I smiled and toke a napking writting my number in it and handed it to him.
"Call me anytime." And with that I was out.
